FAQs about how to use Xero Software
What is Xero accounting software training?
Xero training teaches how to use Xero. We begin with easy steps like adding entries and setting expense categories. Then we move to harder tasks like handling asset depreciation.
Before we touch on Xero, our teachers explain basic accounting. You need to know accounting to use Xero. For instance, you should understand terms like “fixed asset” or how to label an R&D expense.
Consider a company spending $5,000 on a machine. It’s not just an “Operating Expense”. It’s an investment in a capital asset. This asset must be depreciated yearly and written off after its lifespan.
For instance, if a machine costs $5,000 and lasts 5 years and can be sold for $1,000 after 4 years, then yearly depreciation is ($5,000 – $1,000) / 5, or $800. This means you reduce its value by $800 every year.
Many Xero courses don’t discuss basic concepts like depreciation. But we believe understanding these basics prevents errors. So, in our Xero training, we emphasize learning accounting.
I am an experienced accounting professional. Why do I need Xero accounting system training?
Older accountants sometimes struggle because they aren’t familiar with new technologies.1 Younger accountants might know more about these technologies.
If an experienced accountant doesn’t learn Xero, they might lose their job. It’s like a banker not knowing how to use Excel; you need it to make financial predictions.
We offer Xero training courses to help. But our trainers can’t make you learn. You need to want to learn. If you don’t have an open mind, learning becomes tough.
Most Singapore businesses use Xero. But many companies don’t offer training on it. So, not knowing Xero can make it hard to get an accountant job in Singapore.
